The Scottish Government officially launced its Equine Welfare Code on 29th April at Balcormo Stud, Leven, Fife. This is the first “species specific” code to be issued and provides a practical guide for owners and keepers of equines in Scotland. In addition to underpinning the principles of horse care it emphasises the need for those looking after horses to be knowledgeable before taking on the responsibility of equine care.
As Honorary Veterinary Advisor to BHS Scotland, Jamie was asked to attend and present a talk on Equine Health Challenges, focusing particularly on Laminitis and Strangles.
