Small AnimalsThese include dogs, cats, rabbits and all other domestic pets. All these animals can be treated at our surgery. Consultations are by appointment only to cut down on your waiting time. Phone 01738 621415 for an appointment.HorsesOur centre has a designated equine area which includes two loose boxes, stocks and a measuring pad. A large area to the rear of the building also allows the vets to assess horses at exercise during lameness examinations. All the vets are also able to visit horses at your own stables if required. Radiography, ultrasound scanning, endoscopy, stem cell therapy for tendon injuries and dental treatment can all be carried out by the equine vets.Farm AnimalsAll routine farm work and health plans can be carried out by our farm vets. We also have an area to house calves requiring intravenous fluids.VaccinationsDogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets all require yearly vaccinations and these can be carried out at our centre. Horse vaccinations can also be carried out at the centre if required.Parasite ControlStaff at the centre can clearly explain the best form of parasite control for your animal to include animals travelling with Pet Passport.Health ClinicsThe dedicated nursing team provided free nurse clinics which include: Weight clinics, Dental checks, 6 month puppy checks, Insurance advice, Nutritional advice, parasite control and neutering advice.NeuteringAll neutering is carried out at our centre in our theatre suites by our veterinary surgeons. Please contact the surgery for more information.MicrochippingThis can be carried out by one of the vets or nurses at our centre. This is an effective and permanent way of identifying your pet. Please contact the surgery for more information or an appointment to have this done.OperationsOperations are carried out at the centre in our surgical suites on small animals by our veterinary surgeons. Some minor operations on horses can also be carried out at our centre or at the premises where the horse is stabled if appropriate.DispensaryAt our centre we have an extensive pharmacy where most prescriptions can be filled the same day if ordered that morning, however some drugs may need to be ordered with 24 hours notice.Pet PassportsTay Valley Vets can undertake all the preparatory work ( for example ID chipping, rabies vaccination and blood testing) to enable a Pet Passport to be supplied from the centre for your dog or cat.If you require your animal to have a pet passport for travelling abroad your pet needs to be seen by a veterinary surgeon to ensure the guidelines are met for travel. Please contact the centre for more details. Lab WorkAt the centre we have in-house Haematology, Biochemistry and Electrolyte blood machines to ensure swift and accurate results for your pet. Other features include Microscopy for cell identification and parasites, FIV and FeLv tests for cats, and urine screening equipment. A vast array of other tests are undertaken by outside laboratories on our behalf to ensure that a full diagnostic service is provided.Pet InsuranceTay Valley Vets recommend pet insurance. We are an appointed representative of Pet Plan Insurance. If you would like to discuss your insurance needs any of our nurses will be happy to help you, an appointment can be made by calling the surgery.Pet FoodWe stock a full range of prescription foods to treat a variety of ailments.
